Your business website on WordPress.

We build your website on WordPress, installed on hosting in your name, with a short list of plugins and an easy way to update text, photos and blog posts. Before we start, we tell you whether WordPress is the right fit and what care it will need.

Why owners ask for WordPress, and what comes next

The most common reason to ask for WordPress is "I want to change things without calling anyone." That is a good reason. With the block editor, updating your hours, swapping a photo or publishing a post is straightforward. Changing the layout, adding features or redesigning a whole section is a different job. Knowing that difference up front avoids frustration later.

Many owners come to us with an inherited WordPress site. A relative or a former agency built it, it runs twenty plugins nobody can explain, the theme has not been updated in years and no one has the hosting login. That site works right up until the day it does not, and that day usually comes at a bad time.

WordPress is open-source software: no license fee, but no company maintaining it for you either. The self-hosted version from WordPress.org gives you full control over files, design and plugins. In exchange, security and backups are the site owner's job. WordPress.com is a different thing: a hosted service where what you can do depends on the plan you pay for.

Plugins are WordPress's biggest strength and its biggest risk. There is one for almost anything, and the temptation is to add one for every idea. Each plugin is third-party code that needs updates, and most security issues reported in WordPress are found in plugins rather than in WordPress itself. A healthy site runs a few plugins, each with a clear job.

Sometimes WordPress is more than you need. If your site will have three pages that rarely change and no one on your team plans to edit it, carrying updates and plugins may not be worth it. We will say so before we quote.

What a good WordPress site includes

Simple editing, and training that sticks

We set the site up so you can change text, photos and posts without breaking the design. Professional and Advanced include recorded training to edit your site, which your team can rewatch whenever someone new takes over.

A short plugin list

We use only what the site needs, from developers who keep their plugins current, and hand you a list of what each one does. Fewer plugins mean fewer updates and fewer things that can break.

Leads that land somewhere useful

Every package has a contact form. On Essential, leads arrive by email; from Professional, they go into your CRM with tags, so you can see who reached out and why.

A blog you will actually use

WordPress started as a publishing tool. Professional and Advanced include a blog with 3 starter articles, and the training shows your team how to keep posting.

Search built into the structure

Basic SEO on every package, local search structure on Professional, and technical SEO with structured data and a sitemap on Advanced.

SSL now, and a plan for later

SSL is included on every package. After launch, you can handle updates yourself or add an optional monthly maintenance plan with backups and security updates.

A sample sitemap

We adapt it to your business. This works for a local service company that wants to publish articles and get inquiries.

  1. Home

What you do, who you serve, where you work and how to reach you.

  2. Services

One page per main service, with what is included and the questions customers usually ask.

  3. About

Your story, your team and real photos you can replace yourself.

  4. Blog

Articles that answer what your customers search for, grouped by topic.

  5. Contact

A short form, map, hours and phone number.

  6. Privacy policy

Your business's statement on how it uses the information people send through the form.

The package we recommend.

Recommended package: Website Professional

If you are choosing WordPress so your team can edit it, recorded training starts with the Professional package. It also includes a blog with 3 starter articles, local search structure and leads connected to your CRM. If you want online appointment booking or technical SEO with structured data, Advanced adds both.

  1. Essential

Everything you need to look professional: who you are, what you offer and how to reach you.

    Build with Essential
  2. Advanced

A complete site that also follows up and books appointments for you.

    Build with Advanced

What each package includes and the total are shown in the assistant before you pay. One-time payment: 50% to start and 50% on approval.

What WordPress requires and what we don't include

  • Hosting and your domain are paid by you directly to the provider and stay in your name. If a needed plugin has a paid license, we tell you first and you pay for it directly.
  • WordPress, theme and plugin updates keep coming after launch. If you will not run them, the maintenance plan is optional and monthly; with no one in charge, the site becomes more vulnerable over time.
  • Training covers editing content. Design changes, new sections or new features are separate work, or fit inside the monthly hours of the Active and Growth maintenance plans.
  • This page covers informational websites. If you want to sell products online, that is an online store, with its own packages on WooCommerce or Shopify.
  • Markelop is not an official WordPress or hosting partner. We help you choose and sign up for hosting and a domain, but they are in your name and the contract is between you and the provider.

Clear answers, from the start.

Will I really be able to edit the site myself?
Yes: text, photos, hours and blog posts. Professional and Advanced include recorded training for that. What we suggest leaving alone without experience is the theme, the layout and the plugins.
Is this WordPress.com or WordPress.org?
We build on self-hosted WordPress, the software from WordPress.org installed on your own hosting. It gives you full control of the site. WordPress.com is a separate hosted service whose features depend on its plans.
What if I skip the maintenance plan?
The site keeps running, but someone still needs to apply updates and keep backups. You or your team can do it. If no one will, the Basic plan covers backups, security updates and checks that your forms work.
Is WordPress secure?
WordPress itself gets regular security releases. Most problems come from outdated or poorly maintained plugins and themes. That is why we keep the plugin list short and show you how to keep it current.
Can I add a store later?
Yes. WooCommerce runs inside WordPress, so your site can grow into an online store. That is a separate service with its own store packages.
